Kate Holt from Arete went to find out how the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad – SPANA – are encouraging children to learn more about animal welfare to ensure their families’ horses get better treated.

 

SPANA is an animal welfare charity for the working animals of the world. Animals are essential to millions of families in the developing world. SPANA improve the lives of working animals through free veterinary care, education, training and emergency response.

 

A series of photographs was taken of SPANA’s projects in Ethiopia as well as audio recordings of people talking about how important their horses are to them.

 

A multi media film was produced and SPANA are going to use this to tell more people about their programs in Ethiopia.
