In October 2024, Arete collaborated with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) to support their Middle East Crisis Appeal, which has raised over £50 million to date to support the devastating consequences of the ongoing conflict.
DEC member charities were working tirelessly to support families impacted by the conflict and needed to show the positive work they were doing to alleviate suffering.
Arete’s team provided compelling visual content and narratives that highlighted the urgent humanitarian needs in the region, effectively mobilising public support and donations to support ongoing work.
A poignant example is the story of Aaliyah, a mother of six from Khan Yunis, Gaza, who built a temporary shelter opposite her demolished house and depends entirely on aid to feed her family. This powerful image captures just one of many families whose lives have been profoundly affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis across the Middle East.
Arete’s strategic communications and storytelling expertise were instrumental in amplifying the DEC’s message, leading to widespread media coverage and increased public engagement.
This collaboration underscores Arete’s commitment to leveraging impactful storytelling to drive humanitarian efforts and support communities in crisis.
